We are wrapping up the wonderful year of 2014 and beginning a new chapter with the arrival of 2015. Our breeding season is near its end and soon we will place the rams back together. I love putting the ewes back into their peaceful (mostly) flock, but I am not fond of the re-introduction of the rams. We will provide a confined area for the three rams to re-adjust for a couple days. So far we haven’t had any major disasters, but I never count it out. The ram lambs I will leave out of this adjustment phase, they aren’t too interested in the tussling that happens with the bigger boys. The wethers will stay with the younger boys too. Usually calm will return after a few days. Looking towards spring and our new crop of lambs.
Happy 2015 from all of us here at Ram’s Head Station.
